Very sad to learn that Roel (aka Shunt) passed away on February 1st 2025. Never had the chance to meet Roel in real life, but felt like I knew him well through his draws here, and his humor and comments on everyone elses work as well.

Looking back at his gallery the first drawing he contributed here was back in July of 2004, near the very beginning of this website. He continued to draw here all the way up to March 2024, nearly 20 years! The image on this post is one that Roel himself drew here on 10e back in February of 2020, titled 'Mr and Mrs Shunt'. I always thought it was a sweet gesture and one of my favs that he made here.
