Fries with beef gravy is a carnival must. I wait all year for the Washinton County Fair just so I can get gravy fries. Makes my arteries clog just thinking about it.

why do you lot call chips frys and crisps chips?
their not the same thing!
and why do you leave the skin on the chips?

It all depends on what type of fries (chips) you are making, Texas steak fries are thick and shaped more like a wedge than a stick. These have the skin on them. They go great with BBQ cooking. We also have crinkle fries that are thick but have a wavy look to them but no skin. These are good dinner fries. The thin traditional fries are thin and have no skin. These are the ones that you would find in most fast food restaurants( McDonalds, Burger King, Jack in the box). As far as chip (crisps) go not all have a skin on them. Its all in how they are made. As to why we call them what we do, I have no idea, But what I do know is these thing are the best junk food in the entire universe.

potato chips were invented right here in Saratoga Springs, New York, USA, at Moons Lake House, when a nasty customer with the last name of Whitney, kept sending his sliced fired potatos back to the kitchen becaseu he said they were thin enough.....so the cook sliced them paper thin and potato chips were invented..its a slice of Trivia history
